Extranil 5mg Tablet contains Procyclidine which belongs to the group of medicines called Anticholinergics. It is used to relieve and manage the signs of Parkinson's disease such as stiff muscles, paralysis, shaking hands (tremors), trouble talking, writing, and walking, producing too much saliva and dribbling, sweating, uncontrolled eye movements, and depression.
Extranil 5mg Tablet is also used to control extrapyramidal effects caused by certain medicines used to manage mental health conditions, which might include restlessness and unusual head and body movements.
Extranil 5mg Tablet is not recommended for use if you have tardive dyskinesia (uncontrolled movements of the head or tongue).
Extranil 5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver, kidney disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, glaucoma, and thyrotoxicosis. Consult your doctor before taking it.
It is advisable to avoid/limit alcohol consumption.
